T he Assistant City Manager assists in day-to-day operation of the City. The Assistant City Manager is an important link between the City organization and the community, maintaining and building positive relationships with local officials, state officials, federal officials, citizen groups and special interest groups. Monitors the anticipated changes in state laws and programs acting as a liaison with local State of Michigan Representative and Senator. Addresses and resolves citizen complaints, or disputes with suppliers, contractors, or other parties, and responding to inquiries and requests from various key partners and constituents. Represents the City Manager in bargaining meetings with employees and union officials representing the various bargaining units in the City.
